Born in the United States and raised in Turkey, Buse began her artistic education at a young age. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Singing (Opera) from Fontys Conservatory of the Arts in the Netherlands. During her studies, she developed a strong foundation in vocal performance, musicianship, stagecraft, and acting.
While studying opera, Buse became increasingly interested in the creative and conceptual processes behind performance-making. This led her to shift her focus from performing to directing, where she discovered a passion for shaping artistic visions and leading collaborative creative teams. Alongside her studies, she wrote and directed original theatre and opera productions, “The Vail is Lifted” and “The Scarlet Lounge” allowing her to explore the relationship between music, movement, and dramatic storytelling in practice. Her work is influenced by movement-based practices, physical theatre, and interdisciplinary performance approaches, with a focus on creating immersive and engaging experiences for audiences.
Currently, Buse is completing an MA in Theatre Directing at the University of East London. Through her postgraduate studies, she has explored contemporary theatre-making, collaborative directing methodologies, audience engagement, and performance research. Her work often investigates how movement can function as a primary storytelling tool, creating emotional and visual narratives that transcend language.
